The Details
- You will have the option of paying with a Credit Card, Debit Card, or with Electronic Fund transfer (Echeck).
- Payments can be made on a one-time basis or set up on auto pay that will read your bill balance each month and schedule a payment.
- Up to one year of Utility Bill statements will be be displayed along with your prior payment history.
- If an email is provided, we will automatically send you an email reminder of the upcomimg payment and receipt each time a payment if processed.
- Note: you will be asked to set-up a Wellsville Utility Billing Account. As part of this set-up, you will be asked to enter your Wellsville City Utility Account Number. This number can be found on your utility bill (also known as the water bill). It is located under the heading “ACCOUNT NO” and looks something like 4.12345.1. On your set-up enter the numbers WITHOUT the periods. In other words, enter it as 4123451.
Utility payments are always due on/or before the 20th of each month. To insure proper credit, please include your account number on all utility payments.
Garbage Collection Information:
Garbage is collected each Tuesday. Recycling is collected every-other Tuesday. Green Waste (optional) is collected each Tuesday April-October. Please have containers out and ready for collection by 7:00 am. To change the size of your garbage can, or to have one picked up or delivered, phone County Solid Waste at 716-9753. Green waste containers, cardboard recycling containers and a scrap metal recycling container are all available to use free of charge at the city drop location. They are located on the north-east corner of the cemetery. Access is at approximately 200 East 500 North, drop location is at approximately 300 East 500 North. Water Billing Information:
Each water account is allowed up to 20 thousand gallons per month at the base rate of $30.50 per month. Charges for 20-50,000 gallons are at a rate of .60 cents per thousand over 20,000. Charges for 50,000 and over are at a rate of .80 cents per thousand. Meter readings are done in April, June, August, and October. Any overage will show up on these billing statements.
Water meters are city property, and should be handled only by city employees. Water meters being turned on and off by property owners or occupants is prohibited by law, violating this could subject you to a fine ofup to $750.
