Memorial Day Program

A special Memorial Day Veteran’s program will be held at the Veteran’s Monument located at the Wellsville Cemetery on Monday, May 28th, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. The program will include an address by Commandant Jackie Orton, gun salute, flag line, playing of Taps, and the reading of names of veterans buried in the Wellsville Cemetery.

Wellsville City thanks the Cache Valley Marine Corps League for providing the program. Please join us in honoring those who have served our country. A limited amount of seating will be available: you may want to bring a lawn chair just in case. All veterns are invited to participate in the group photo that will be taken following the program.

Youth Fishing Derby

Youth from 3 to 15 are invited to participate in the third annual Wellsville Youth Fishing Derby to be held Saturday June 2nd (Utah’s free fishing day) from 7:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

There will be fun prizes for the biggest fish caught each hour and overall. Family members are encouraged to assist youth children. Volunteers will be available to help those who are inexperienced and to measure the fish that are caught.

Please note that no boats will be allowed on the reservoir during the fishing derby.

Spring Carnival on the Square

Due to weather conditions last month, the Spring Carnival has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It will be a day or “fun-raising” at the Wellsville Tabernacle.

Support the Historic Wellsville Tabernacle

Tickets may be purchased and used for games, art station, and hourly drawings. Wrist bands will be sold separately for unlimited time in the bounce house and climbing wall. Join us for cotton candy, nachos, popcorn, prizes and lots of family fun! All proceeds will be used to repair the Tabernacle. Please come and support or fund raising efforts. Football Signups

Adopt a Trail

Bevan Higbee is the new Wellsville Reservoir trail coordinator. The City is looking for one or more families who would like to adopt the west side of the trail, and take an active role in garbage pick-up and cleaning the rocks off the trail. Please call Bevan if your family would like to help with this worthwhile project. Beven’s number is 245-3622. This would be a great opportunity to teach your family about service to the community.

Volunteers Needed

The city is looking for volunteers who would be willing to refurnish the picnic tables at the bowery. The tables will need to be sanded down and re-varnished. This would be a great Eagle Scout project. Please call the city office if you are interested.

You can find them by clicking on the link under the Find It Fast column or by click on the General Plan tab in the menu bar at the top of the page. Some of the files are large and may take a few minutes to download, depending on the speed of your computer.

How to get Agendas to Upcoming Meetings

Remember that you can have City Council and Planning Commission Agendas emailed to you. To get placed onto the agenda mailing list just send your email address to the city office with your request. Send your request to wellsville@comcast.net.

You can also see the agendas by clicking on the ‘Agendas’ link in the left-hand ‘Find It Fast’ column, then click on the Utah.gov link. This will take you to the State Agendas website. From there simply click on “Cities” under the Government heading, then scroll down and select ‘Wellsville’ under the “Entities” list, and then select whether you want to see the agenda for the Board of Adjustments, City Council, or Planning Commission meeting.
