HISTORICAL SPEAKER
Tuesday August 30th
We are pleased to welcome Darren Parry, Vice Chair of the Northwestern Band of Shoshone to speak at the Wellsville Stake Center cultural hall at 6:30pm.  He will speaking on Shoshone culture and the relationship between the Shoshone people and the early settlers of Wellsville.

Wellsville: Then and Now.  Have you heard of the Confectionary, the Red and White store, Willies Cash & Carry, Wellsville Co-op, Baugh Motors, The Golden  Rule Store, or the Wellsville Bank? Ever wonder where they were located and what is there now?  To find out the answers meet at 6:30 pm in front of the city office building for a walking tour of our historical Wellsville sites.  We recommend that you wear comfortable walking shoes for this activity.

WELLSVILLE CEMETERY TOUR

M. Kent Larsen will provide a cemetery tour highlighting nine citizens who made their mark in our community.  Among those we will learn about are Zial Riggs, Dennis Theron Speth, John Thirkell, Joseph Archibald, John Bankhead and Charles R. Bailey.  A family member or friend will tell their story at each grave site.  This event will take place at 6:30pm.  All those interested in attending please meet by the flag pole in the cemetery.

7th annual Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association event begins each night at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $6 for 5yrs and older. Concessions are available

CHALK IT UP

Wellsville’s 3rd Chalk Art Festival! Contest begins Friday September 2nd at 5 pm. Contestants will be given a section of sidewalk by the Tabernacle and will have 24 hrs to complete their art. With the Weather permitting, the art will remain until September 5th for all of Wellsville to enjoy. A $5 contribution provides you with a box of chalk and clean up.

GOLF PARCTICE

Sherwood Hills golf course is offering a good-for-all-day green fee for just $10 (does not include golf cart). Call 245-5054 for more information.

Races start at 7 am SHARP on the east side of the Taberancle. You can register onine by going to www.wellsvillecity.com and following the link, online registrations are accepted until Saturday, September 3rd. Registration on the day of the race is $20. Kids K starts at 7 am at the corner of Center and Main. Registration is $3 and DOES NOT include a t-shirt. Shirts will be available to buy on day of race.
