Mayor Maughan’s Final Message
December 28, 2009
To the Citizens of Wellsville,
As I conclude my tenure as Mayor of Wellsville City, I take this opportunity to thank all of you for your support. As many of you know, I have served six years on the City Council and twenty years as Mayor of Wellsville City. I have felt it an honor to serve as Mayor of this beautiful city. I’m proud of my pioneer heritage and of the strong pioneer heritage that we have in our community. I have had the opportunity of rubbing shoulders with many of you in service projects and activities, and I thank all of you who have been involved in any way for the willing service which you have rendered to make our community a better place.
I have had the opportunity to work with great city council members, both past and present, and to them I say thank you. I realize that there have been times when some members of the community may not have agreed with some of the difficult decisions that I have been forced to make. However, these decisions were made in the best interest of Wellsville City and our citizens.
Many of you have heard me say the strength of a community lies within her citizens and I feel that we have the greatest citizens and community in the valley. It is my hope that we will continue on as a community and work together. Once again, it has been an honor and a privilege to represent you as your Mayor. I leave knowing that Wellsville City is in good hands with our new elected officials. To all of you I again say, thank you.
Sincerely,
/s/ Ruth
Mayor Ruth P. Maughan
