Notice is hereby given of a Mid-Term council person vacancy on the Wellsville City Council. Any person interested in serving as a council member and meeting the following eligibility and residency requirements is invited to file a 1 page document expressing why, and your interest in serving on the council. The individual will be filling the unexpired term of Mary Ann Degn who has moving out of Wellsville. The term of the appointment will expire December 31, 2019.

Eligibility and Residency Requirements:
1. Candidates must be a United States citizen at the time of filing for candidacy.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
3. Must be a legal resident of the municipality for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of appointment.
4. Must be a registered voter of the municipality.

Pursuant to Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in the state until the right to vote or hold elective office is restored as provided by statute.

The 1-page (application) document expressing why/and your interest in serving on the council must be filed at the office of the City Recorder by noon on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the City Offices at 75 East Main in Wellsville, Utah.

The council will hold a regular scheduled council meeting on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 6:00 P.M. at the City Offices at 75 East Main. Immediately after routine agenda items and the scheduled public hearings, the council will interview each candidate then make the selection of the person to fill the vacancy.
