Notice is hereby given of a Mid-Term council person vacancy on the Wellsville City Council.  Any person interested in serving as a council member and meeting the following eligibility and residency requirement is invited to file a 1 page document expressing why, and your intersest in serving on the council.  The individual will be filling the unexpired term of Karen Higley who has moved out of Wellsville.  The term of the appointment will expire December 31, 2017.

Eligibility and Residency Requirements:
1.  Candidates must be a United States citizen at time of filing for candidacy.
2.  Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
3.  Must be a legal resident of the municipality for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of appointment
4.  Must be a registered voter of the municipality

Pursuant to Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in the state until the right to vote or hold elective office is restored as provided by statute.

The 1st page (application) document expressing why/and your interest in serving on the council must be filed at the office of the City Recorder by Noon on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at the City Offices at 75 East Min in Wellsville, Utah.

The council will hold a regular scheduled council meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the City Offices at 75 East Main.  Immediately after the routine agenda items the ocuncil will interview each candidate then make the selection of the person to fill the vacancy.
