The 6th annual Kids Fishing Derby will be held at the Wellsville Dam at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6th. Brett and Sandy Jorgensen have been in charge of this activity for 6 years. They, and their team, have done a great job every year.

The UDWR is stocking extra fish again this year so we expect success to be good. Several hundred $$$ in prizes will be given out thanks to another generous grant from the UDWR.

Notice is hereby given that Wellsville City will hold a Municipal Election this fall to elect three candidates to serve four year terms as council members on the Wellsville City Council.
Persons desiring to be candidates for the 2015 Wellsville City Municipal Election must file a declaration of candidacy form or nomination petition between June 1, 2015 and June 8, 2015 at the City Recorder’s Office,75 East Main, Wellsville, Utah weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
1. Be a United States Citizen;
2. Be a registered voter of the City;
3. Be a resident of Wellsville City for at least 365 consecutive days immediately preceding the date of the election;
4. Not be a convicted felon, unless their right to hold an elective office has been restored.
The primary election, if necessary, will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 and the municipal election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2015. A primary election will only be necessary if more than 7 candidates file for the three City Council seats.

A special Memorial Day Veteran’s program will be held at the Veteran’s Monument located in the Wellsville Cemetery on Monday, May 25, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. the program will include a gun salute, playing of Taps, special musical number, a speaker and the reading of the names of all the veterans buried in the Wellsville Cemetery. Please join us in honoring those who have served our county. A limited amount of seating will be available; you may want to bring your own lawn chair. All veterans are invited to participate in the group photo that will be taken following the program.
