On the city square, following the Sham Battle, will be the annual Music in the Park. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets, grab something to eat from the Dutch Oven dinner or from one of the vendors (or bring your own picnic), and prepare for an afternoon of outstanding music. As usual, this is a free event.

This years concert kicks off around 11:30 am and begins with Wellsville’s own Katie Riggs. Raised in our community Katie now lives in Nashville. We are delighted to welcome Katie home and to hear her absolutely outstanding voice again.

Following Katie, will be The Fender Benders. The Cache Valley based band has years of playing classic rock-and-roll from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. As they say on their website:
“We are five versatile musicians, each of whom has been performing in rock bands for 20-40 years (for a total of more than 150 years individual performing experience). We have been together for eight years… with the same band members!  Our repertoire includes songs everybody knows: true “classics” from the golden age of rock: the late 60s, the 70s, and the early 80s. Our sound is genuine and true to the genre, with full instrumentation on vintage instruments (including all-tube guitar and keyboard amps), rich lead vocals, and tight harmonies”.

Although we use our musicianship to make each song “our own”, the style and feel are always true to the original recording. (In fact, we sometimes sound more “true” to the record than the original band does when they perform in concert!) Our extensive playlist (over 6 hours of music without repeats!) allows us to tailor our performance for a wide variety of venues.”

As Dewy Bunnell of the classic bank America said of the Fender Benders  “This isn’t OLDIES. This is CLASSIC ROCK”.

Come join with your friends and neighbors for an enjoyable afternoon of music.
