NOTICE: 2011 Municipal Election will be held to elect 3 City Council Members.
Citizens desiring to run for office must file a “Declaration of Candidacy” in person with the City Election Official Don Hartle. Forms will be available in the City Recorder’s office beginning Friday, July 1, 2011 during normal business hours. The filing period will run from July 1st through July 15th 2011. Candidates for City Council shall be non-partisan & are four (4) year terms.
- Candidates must be a United States citizen at time of filing for candidacy.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the next municipal election.
- Candidates must be a legal resident on the Wellsville, or a resident of a recently annexed area, for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the election.
- Candidates must be a registered voter of the Wellsville.
Pursuant to Utah Constitution Article IV, Section 6, any mentally incompetent person, any person convicted of a felony, or any person convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to vote or hold elective office is restored as provided by statue.
Candidate Forms & Packet: Available July 1, 2011 through July 15, 2011 at the Wellsville City Offices (75 East Main Street, Wellsville, Utah, 84339). The packet may be taken for review prior to filing for candidacy or reviewed in the office. At the time of filing, the Election Official will meet with the candidate to go over election requirements and information and answer any questions.
PRIMARY ELECTION: Tuesday, September 13, 2011 (if needed)
GENERAL ELECTION: Tuesday, November 8, 2011
