Cowboy Day’s Concert in the Park

Posted on Jun 12th 2011 by City Staff.

Please join us for an evening of fine Western music featuring members of the Western Music Association. Featured artists for this year’s Wellsville Cowboy Day’s are Dave Anderson and Saddle Strings. The free concert will start at 6:00 pm on Saturday June 18th and will be outdoors in the shadow of the historic Wellsville Tabernacle. Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket to spread on the grass and relax to an evening of great music.

In addition to the concert, there will be a raffle of a guitar with lessons and a one night stay which includes a two-hour horse ridefor two at Beaver Creek Lodge located up Logan Canyon. The raffle will be held at 7:00 pm and you must be present to win.

David Anderson:  David comes from a long line of musicians that includes his Mother who played the piano, his Dad who had his own dance band and David, in his younger days, was involved in musicals, choirs and, believe it or not, his own ROCK BAND! All of this musical background has brought David to his “music comfort zone” of today that includes traditional Western music, Classic Cowboy songs and original compositions.

Saddle Strings: Saddle Strings is a cowboy band with roots that run deep into the Cowboy lifestyle. Members include Kurt Argyle, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, and vocals. Cindy Argyle, vocals and percussion, Laurie Morgan, vocals and percussion. Jodi Thackeray plays fiddle, sings and yodels. Brian Arnold sings, performs poetry, and plays rhythm/lead guitar. Each has ranching and/or rodeo experience, and are at home performing around a cow camp fire or on stage.
