Kids up to the age of 15 are invited for a free Fishing Derby day at the Wellsville Dam. The event will be held on Saturday, June 5 from 8:00 am to Noon. There will be hourly prizes, along with a prize for the biggest fish caught. Volunteers will be available to help those fishing for the first time. A fishing merit badge class will be held at 9:00 am for anyone interested. For more information or if you would like to help please contact Brett Jorgensen at 245-4323.

Everyone is invited to a free Concert in the Park featuring the talents of the Simmons Brothers. The program will begin at 7:00 pm., Saturday, the 19th of June. Plan on coming early to enjoy the concessions provided as a fundraiser for the Wellsville Tabernacle. The Concert is free to everyone. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs and be ready for a great evening.

The city is still taking orders for a reprint of Windows of Wellsville books. These informative books contain Wellsville’s history from the years 1856-1984. The books would need to be prepaid and would cost $60-$65. If a large enough quantity is preordered, we may be able to sell the books at a slightly lower cost. Orders would need to be prepaid before the books could be preordered. Please contact the Wellsville City Office by June 30, 2010 to place your order.

A reward is being offered for any information regarding harrows that were taken from the Wellsville City ball diamond. The harrows are privately owned and need to be returned. If you have seen the harrows or have any information regarding them, please contact the city.
