Removing snow becomes a problem when snow is pushed from residential driveways across the streets, creating snow piles and ice build-up on the roads. Due to the damage it causes to the city’s snowplows when they hit those snow piles, we will not attempt to plow those roads where residents have piled snow in the street. As a result, the build up of snow and ice will cause those roads to be narrow and difficult to drive on.
The snow piles left by residents along the side of the street create an even greater hazard for children. The children often want to play in and on the snow hills, which puts them in dangerous proximity to traffic and snowplows. Be aware that the city will not be held liable for any mishap that may occur. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.
