On Memorial Day, May 25th, at the Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville will hold our annual program honoring veterans. Begining at 10:00 a.m. at the Veterans Monument in the cemetery, this years program will include the Cache County Sheriffs Department Color Guard, a children’s choir, and a patriotic speaker.
We are proud of our Wellsville veterans, both living and deceased, and are indebted to them for their bravery and service.

As part of the annual Arbor Day ceremony held on April 25, Mayor Ruth P. Maughan recognized Ted and Ruth Hall and Dee and Donna Stoddard for their many years of outstanding service to Wellsville. To showcase this service for years to come, trees have been planted on the City Square in each couples honor.
Also during the ceremony Wellsville was presented with our 21st Tree City USA award. Only six other Utah communities have a longer running Tree City USA tradition than Wellsville.
In a letter to Mayor Ruth P. Maughan, Richard J. Buehler, the Utah State Forester, stated “The National Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Wellsville as a Tree City USA for the 21st time. Citizens can take pride in this designation and know that efforts are being made to grow a healthy tree resource in their community which will benefit generations to come. The influence of a healthy community forest to the environment and citizens of your community is significant”.
