Winter Parking and Snow Removal Reminder

Posted on Jan 6th 2009 by City Staff.

City Code prohibits parking on city streets between the hours of midnight and 8:00 a.m. from now until April 30th, 2009. Automobiles, boats, campers, trailers, construction equipment, etc. are not to be parked on the streets. Emergency vehicles are permitted to park on the street.

Garbage cans must be placed 3 feet off the asphalt so snow plows can remove snow more efficiently. There is also a problem with residents pushing snow across the street, and leaving it in the road. The snow left in the street or piled along the street shoulder is very difficult for the snow plows to remove, and is causing extensive damage to the city plows. The snow plow operators have been instucted not to push these piles of snow that have been left in the road. This will result in traffic being narrowed to one lane in some areas. Your cooperation in this manner is greatly appreciated.
